Balancing Cleanse Day 2
I have been in my office all day finally cleaning and getting organized. When you are doing a cleanse physically it really helps to organize and cleanse the rest of your life. It is a process and can not be done in one day so take the time you need but work at it you will feel so good once it is done. I work from home most days. My home office is in my living room. I didn’t plan that I would be doing all my work from home but it is really nice to be able to multi task. Tuesdays are the days I teach up to 5 yoga sessions so I try and fit in administrative work from my yoga business and our family business. Also washing clothes and picking up everything that has been left out during the process of the week.
Yesterday I did not finish all my 1200 calories. I just wasn’t hungry and I didn’t want to over eat but today I feel a little more hungry. I still have 1 more veggie, 1 more protein and 1 more grain to eat for the night. It is 5pm and I have 1 more class to teach. I will listen to my body and try and make it really light food unless once I’m done with class I feel famished.
Today I wanted to talk about Plant Based Proteins and how I handle following a meal plan that is not created around plant based foods. First I use quinoa and legumes as my protein. The 21 day fix has both of them as carbs. All of the food I eat are complex carbohydrates and everything I eat has protein. The following chart bellow is a good example
As you can see you can use any of the above food as your protein. I am gluten free and I wouldn’t use wheat as my protein. In fact for this balancing cleanse I would either limit or not eat any gluten as it causes inflammation in the body. I know I am talking about the 21 day fix meal program but you can use any other program that you would like as long as you are eating 1200 to 1500 calories of clean plant based foods. Limit all animal products as much as possible and take out any processed sugars, flour and all dairy products.
Besides my eyes feeling very tired from 10 hours of computer work today I feel great! I know its a bit easier for me since I already live a plant based life style though I still have to tell myself no sugar no yummy vegan marshmallows and i’m not eating as much fruits I usually do. The reason to do a cleanse is to start to eliminate the foods that cause inflammation and cause pain and or just make us feel yuck!
