OMG I can’t believe what a life saver this has been for me this last year. I have purchased a lot of planners and organizers over the course of my life and have never used any of them. I love books and I love the idea of writing in a journal every day but it just never felt right to me. I guess my life was pretty boring or not interesting enough to want to write something down everyday. But this year my sons got engaged. Yes I have 3 boys age 28,25 &22 and they all decided to get engaged and to be married with in a year of each other.
Although we are really grateful for these weddings they do come with lots of organizing on my part. In our culture the boys family does everything for the wedding except get the bride ready. The venue, meal planning and everything else that comes with weddings is on us as parents. So I put it out there to my FB friends suggestions on how to organize these weddings, teaching yoga, and working in our family business, traveling and spending time my family still at home with us and with my son-in-law, daughter and precious grandson.
Bullet Journal was given as a suggestion. I went online to www.bulletjournal.com and viewed his videos and figured what did I have to loose except adding another journal to my collection. In this process or journey to find the right journal I realized I don’t like ruled journals. I like them squared and I want the journal to have a good vibe or energy to it. I know that might sound crazy but that’s how I buy all my books. Its just a feeling that I know when its right. I purchased the Moleskin Journal in Purple and squared and was on my way. Now at the beginning I tried to do it just like it is shown on the video but then I realized that wasn’t going to work from my brain so I just started to log down every day things that needed to be done and list and list and list. It took 1 wedding to get through to find a flow and by the second wedding I had it exactly the way I needed it.
I actually got to the point that if I lose this book my life will fall apart and I won’t know what to do. Just like on the movie 27 Dresses when Jane get her planner taken away and she’s left with not knowing her next move. And I’m with her on the fact that I would not like to use an electronic planner. My journal is now all that I need.
2 wedding later and 11 months of planning I am now using it to doodle and color in. Making it fun and trying to be creative and inspiring. I also just purchased my 2nd journal specifically for my spiritual practice. Journaling my bible studies, meditation practices and the like. I hope I have inspired you to begin journaling.
I would love to her comment thoughts or encouragements so please feel free to discuss.
