Time for a cleanse?
It’s that time again for me. I can just feel my body when I start eating nonhealthy foods. I start to feel sluggish and thick. I know its easy for me to do a cleanse since I really try to eat clean all the time but sugar and oils have a way of creeping back into my diet everytime I travel. The thing with traveling and being a gluten free vegan is there isn’t much on the menus you can eat so you tend to eat lots of French fries and once I start eating that way I become very addicted to oils. There are no “good” oils. They are all 100% calories from fat with no nutritional value. But boy do they taste good.
So for this cleanse I am taking out all oils and limiting my sugars to fruit and honey in moderation. I also started juicing ( or buying cold pressed juices)and I’m adding in Biotics to help heal the gut. I will limit my intake of rice and corn. I will add wild rice as it is not a grain. I am also going to trying out various soups. I purchased a book called Souping by Alison Velazques . I will do my first soup cleanse on March 11, 2016.
If you are new to cleansing you will want to limit or take all meat out of your diet, all dairy, eggs, anything that has a mother you won’t want to eat it. Take out all gluten. Animal products and gluten are very inflammation causing to the body. Add lots of veggies. This is a great way to explore new foods. There are lots of sites out there that have vegan gluten free recipes. Pinterest has tons. The best part of cleansing is you will learn your body and what it needs to survive plus you will learn how to eat in a new way. Your mind and belly will be open to so many new flavors. It’s really exciting.
Along with your new way of eating its a great time to incorporate exercise into your life and if you are very active then you may want to incorporate some yin yoga to you weekly workout.
